the ohio players were formed in the late 50's in dayton, ohio, but by the time of this track's release the band had gone through many line-up and label changes
in 1970 the group disbanded, but the new ohio players line-up released their debut 45 called pain on the small local label rubber town sounds shortly after
it was soon picked up for distribution by the detroit based westbound label, reaching the r&b top 40 in late 1971
